Deepika Padukone Sonam Kapoor Controversy over Ranbir Kapoor Video

The Koffee with Karan show featuring Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor has already become controversial with Rishi Kapoor not appreciating Karan Johar and the girls taking a joke at his son Ranbir Kapoor’s expense. In the show, Deepika Padukone said that she would like to gift Ranbir Kapoor a pack of condoms, hinting at his philandering ways. Sonam Kapoor too joined by saying that Ranbir is not sexy at all, and she had already seen him totally nude in Sawaariya, there was not much to see. Both the girls even went on to say that Ranbir is just a friend material, not a boyfriend. Though Ranbir does not making taking these catty comments with a pinch of salt, dad Rishi Kapoor was not amused.

A bewildered Rishi Kapoor said that Karan Johar had instigated the girls to say unsavory things about his son, just to bolster the TRPs of his show. He also said that the girls should focus on their careers instead of making silly statements like these. Ranbir Kapoor, though surprised at the way the girls went overboard, said that he would thank Deepika for educating him about the use of condoms.

Rishi Kapoor meanwhile has told Karan Johar’s director and Ranbir Kapoor’s best friend, Ayan Mukherjee to do the film with his son, but keep Karan Johar out of the picture. Now Ayan Mukherjee seems to be in a tight spot and so is Ranbir. Ayan was to direct Ranbir Kapoor in Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions next with Ranbir again in the lead(after Wake Up Side) but Rishi Kapoor’s call made it clear to him that he had to choose between his buddy Ranbir or mentor Karan. The movie is set to go on the floors in early 2011.

Rishi Kapoor confirms, “Ayan came over to discuss the matter with me. I clearly told him neither me nor Ranbir will work for any Dharma production. If Ayan still chooses to work with my son I’ve offered to get him another producer to produce his second film.’

Matters have worsened to such an extent that Rishi Kapoor has walked out of Agneepath, Karan Johar’s ambitious production starring Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra. Rishi Kapoor was even contemplating going bald in the film but his son’s insult in the show has made him change his mind. As a result, it is believed that Sanjay Dutt will play the villain in Agneepath. Rishi says, “We Kapoors are small people. Who are we to pick fights and have cold wars? Like Ranbir Karan apna hi bachcha hai. We’re all fond of him. But as far as I am concerned none of us Kapoors will work in a Dharma Production.”
