Director Manish Acharya Dead

Young director Manish Acharya who directed, produced and co-wrote Loins of Punjab died early morning due to a fatal accident when he fell of a horse. Just before going to Matheran where he met with this accident, he had chatted with Shabana Azmi. Manish Acharya is the third young film-maker this year, who has died at a young age, the other two being Sourabh Narang (director of Vaastushastra) and Pankaj Advani (director of Sankat City)

Actress Shabana Azmi, who worked with Acharya in Loins of Punjab Presents, could not believe the news. "It's devastating. I got a tweet from him from Matheran," she tweeted. He had tweeted @AzmiShabana Wish I was. I love that place. Thats where I stay usually. Big group this time, & so at other hotel. :( but still Matheran. :)

'My friend, future director, super funny wannabe beach bum and unbelievable human being Manish Acharya. I'm too shocked to say more," Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra posted on her Twitter account.

Manish was also associated with films like Luck By Chance and Sita Sings the Blues. He had started off as a camera assistant on Ishq Vishk, the Ken Ghosh movie. May God give the courage and the strength to his family members and friends to bear the loss. May his soul rest in peace: Bollywood Trends
