The Most Expensive Movie in Indian Cinema: Rana

Rajnikanth's Rana is going to be the most expensive movie in Indian film history. A historic film made on the lines of 300, Indian cinema's most valuable treasure Rajnikanth will be paired opposite three heroines in the film-Deepika Padukone, Anushka Shetty and Asin.

Rana is being directed by K.S. Ravikumar who has given the superstars two hits in the form of Muthu and Padayappa. K S Ravikumar says, "Yes, Rana will be an action entertainer and it will be a period film. Rajinikanth will sport a different look in it."


A source close to the film's unit also says, "If things go according to plan, Rana will start rolling in March. Rajini will play three different roles in it. It will be a trilingual and the film will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi by next year."

While AR Rahman will compose the music for Rana,Rathnavelu will do the cinematographyi. Art and editing will be handled by Rajeevan and Anthony respectively. Daughter will coproduce the film along and also handle the special effects part. Soundary is also doing work in papa Rajnikanth'a animation flick Sultan The Warrior aka Hara, that will release after Rana.
