Darsheel Safary-The chosen one

Aamir Khan and his creative team has chosen Darsheel Safary from 4000 8 year old boys they considered for the role of Ishaan Awasthy in Taare Zameen Par. Aamir Khan found what he wanted in Green Lawns High School. Though Aamir Khan felt that the boy fitted the bill, his class teacher did not think so. Darsheel Safary one of the naughtiest boys in the class, had actually been suspended some days ago for being indisciplined. Well, this was what Aamir Khan wanted- a boy who oozed out his character somewhat in real life too. Aamir knew that Darsheel had it in him and decided he'd talk to the principal about taking the child for his project. Though the principal was in awe of Aamir, she felt it was not convenient to let the boy go due to academic reasons. Aamir convinced the principal that he's look after his studies and make sure that the boy's academic life would not be disrupted in any way possible. Doesn't it take a leaf from the scene in the movie itself? Remember Aamir Khan trying to convince the principal about Ishaan Awasthy and giving his assurance that he'd take care of the child's weaknesses.

Aamir Khan hired a tutor specially for Darsheel on the sets and made sure that the boy was always in the loop about what was going in the school. As Darsheel got busy, he also became particular about his studies and made sure that he took all the notes and revised whatever was taught to him. Not to mention doing his rhersals and giving his shots well. With Mr.Perfect Aamir taking him under his wings, seems like there is another young perfectionist in the making!!
