Shanker Ehsaan Loy, Bollywood's favorite Melody Moghuls

Shankar Ehsaan Loy: Shankar Ehsaan Loy have been the most consistent music directors in India. You can always rely on SEL for consistency. Though A.R.Rahman is extremely gifted as a music composer, at times he can disappoint too as he did in Mr.Romeo, Kisna-The Warrior Poet, and Paheli. But not Shankar Ehsaan Loy, they have always come up with hummable compositions. Their strength lies in melody. Look at the title song of Kal Ho Na Ho, or “maa” from Taare Zameen Par or “meri duniya” from Heyy Babyy. Shankar Ehsaan Loy is also very effective in danceable songs and fast beat numbers. Some of the best fast danceable Shankar Ehsaan Loy numbers are “It is the time to Disco”, “Heyy Babyy(title song)”, “Koi Kahe”(Dil Chahta Hai), Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (title song) and Aaj Ki Raat (Don-The Chase Begins). Kajra Re remains the best work of Shankar Ehsaan Loy till date and Aaj Ki Raat(Don-The Chase Begins) was the best song 2006.

Best fast numbers of Shankar Ehsaan Loy:

5. Jhoom Barabar Jhoom

4.Koi Kahe (Dil Chahta Hai)

3. Heyy Babyy(Hey Baby)

2. Aaj Ki Raat(Don-The Chase Begins)

Tanhai is one of the finest compositions in recent times. Reminds one of the golden days of music back in the 60s and 70s when the music composition, arrangement, lyrics, voice and picturisation all are in perfect sync to produce a masterpiece.

Shankar Ehsaan Loy's composition and arrangement are absolutely brilliant, Javed Akhtar's lyrics classy as usual, Sonu's soulful rendition not just flawless but full of emotion and expression, and of course, Aamir's face says it all on the silver screen.
