The recent crime scenes which have rocked the country have seeded inspiration in the minds of producers and directors. Mahesh Bhatt is reportedly making a movie based on the Neeraj Grover murder case that made news paper headlines for more than a week. On May 6, 2008 Maria had reportedly called Neeraj to help her with some house helping work. She was a South Indian actress and a Bollywood aspirant who had got friendly with Neeraj because he was a good point of contact with Bollywood. While there were home, Maria's boyfriend Jerome had called her up from Kochi, and grew suspicious hearing a male voice in the background. He asked her to tell Neeraj to go away, but Maria switched the cell phone off
The next day, Jerome was at the doorstep of Maria's house. He reportedly saw Neeraj sleeping in state of undress on Maria's bed. A scuffle followed and Jerome, the navy man killed him, stabbing him repeatedly with a kitchen knife. After killing Neeraj, both Maria and Jerome had cut the body into 300 pieces before disposing it in Manor, outside Mumbai. Maria then acted as an alibii and reported about a missing Neeraj so that the police would not suspect her. Maria and Jerome were about to get away but their misfortune caught up with them as a watchman who had spotted Jerome and Maria, carrying three bags of pieces to the car, spilled the beans to the police. Maria confessed to the crime days later, when the police grilled her non-stop.
Back to Bollywood, Mahesh Bhatt is all set to make a movie based on the case. It will probably have Emraan Hashmi to play the role of Jerome. Neeraj's father has however stated that if the movie has masala ingredients and shows his son in bad light, he'd move to the court.
There's more....While this is going, there are talks about making a movie on the Arushi murder case in Noida which rocked the whole country. The investigations which are still going on with a lot of media hysteria generated in the process, has prompted a small time producer to make a movie on the incident. It is believed Riya Sen or Hrishita Bhatt will play the role of Arushi.
It has also been reported that Katrina Kaif has been approached to play the role of young Scarlett who was drugged, raped and murdered under mysterious circumstances in Goa.
