Preview of Fashion, summarized story of Fashion

Fashion releases on October 29’ 2008. Starring Priyanka Chopra as a protagonist, is the story of the rise, fall and re-birth of the India’s number one supermodel Meghna Mathur. Set in the haute couture fashion world, a small town ambitious girl Meghna Mathur is determinant to make it big in the fashion world. Though she has been brought up in a conservative town, Meghna nurses a fierce ambitious to make it big in the glam world of Mumbai. Without compromising on anything, Meghna reaches the pinnacle of success, only to roll down into depths of failure and betrayal. Meghna’s karma catches up with her, and she has to pay a heavy price for the fame and glory she has achieved. Coming back to the modeling world is tough, but the steadfast Meghna gives her best shot to win back her lost glory. But somewhere along the line, her conscience asks her if she is doing the right thing?


There are also side plots in the movie including Kangana Ranaut who plays the role of Gitanjali Nagpal, a fashion model who went from riches to abject poverty and insanity. Kangana Ranaut will be also essaying the wardrobe malfunction scene which happened with Carol Gracias in the Lakme Fashion Week two years ago. However, the censors have snipped the part where Kangana’s breasts are shown, and viewers will only get to see her uncomfortable expression. Mugdha Godse also has a prominent role to play in the film. The music of the movie is by Salim Sulaiman. The director(no prizes for guesses) is the ever dependable three time national award winner Madhur Bhandarkar.
