Akshay Kumar has signed and given his consent to star in a movie tentatively titled 'Action Replay' inspired by The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Action Replay is truly a performance oriented role with a unique story(not so unique if you consider The Curious Case of Benjamin Button). In the movie, you will have Akshay Kumar being born as an old man. He will keep getting younger with age. So in the movie Action Replay, you will see Akshay Kumar getting younger with every passing reel. Akshay's heroine in the film Aishwarya Rai will be born as a baby and will continue to grow like every normal person. There will come a time when Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai will both be youthful and more or less of the same age. This is when the romance will start between the two only to wither away with passing times. In the end, you will see Akshay Kumar as a tiny infant resting on the shoulders of his mother, an old Aishwarya Rai.
Action Replay will be produced by Vipul Shah(who else!) who has made successful Akshay Kumar starrers like Singh is Kinng, Namastey London, Waqt: A Race Against Time and Namastey London. Though Akshay Kumar has worked the most with Katrina Kaif, he will be seen opposite the ever-so beautiful Aishwarya Rai. The pair had worked with each other in Khakee where Aishwarya Rai played the role of the villain in the film.
Akshay Kumar who had a gold run at the box office in the year 2007 with all hits, and continued the trend in 2008 with Singh is Kinng finally tasted failure with Chandni Chowk to China. However the star is still shining and will continue to be the biggest one for 2009, if the line-up of films, he has, is anything to go by. Akshay Kumar will be seen in some promising films of 2009 like 8X10, Blue, Kambakth Ishq and De Dana Dan. But Akshay Kumar' most performance oriented role which might just win him a Filmfare Best Actor's Award and other awards(if everything goes well) is Action Replay.
