Lafangey Parindey Review Deepika Padukone's best performance

Lafangey Parindey is a brilliant movie, period. Deepika Padukone has been constantly improving with ever film and Lafagney Parindey is indeed Deepika Padukone’s best performance to date. All credit to the under-rated director Pradeep Sarkar of Parineeta fame who has also come up with a first-rate movie after his previous outdated themed debacle, Laga Chunari Mein Daag

Story of Lafangey Parindey:
Lafangey Parindey is a story based in a chawl where Pinky(Deepika Padukone) loves dancing and skating, and she is so brilliant in these skills that her dancing partner who comes to the chawl to teach her believes that she will one day make it as a famous dancer. However, this middle-class girl who works as a sales executive, finally has a clash with fate when she meets with an accident that makes her blind.

The guy who is responsible for this, albeit not consciously, is Nandu(Neil Nitin Mukesh) who has an unpredictable source of income and unflattering job-a boxer who has to indulge in blood- sport to earn money. But then he has a rare talent, he is One-Shot Nandu, who can beat the shit out of his competitors blindfolded.

One night, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Kay Kay Menon are involved in an encounter and they scurry off in their car. Neil who is behind the wheel accidentally knocks a person who he later comes to know, was the girl living in his chawl Pinky(Deepika Padukone).

How Nandu comes into Pinky’s life and gives his all to inspire Pinky so that she could win the India’s Got Talent is the crux of the story.

Plus points of Lafangey Parindey:
1. The chic tapori lingo is very good.
2. The flow of the movie is very good and the movie unfolds right from the very first reel.
3. Some of the dialogues are brilliant: Shaana Banna Hain Ki Yeda? is a catchy one liner.
4. The movie has a decent script and the execution on the screen is fantastic
5. The contrasting personalities:guy, a gutter fighter and girl, a graceful dancer is excellent. Actually you can draw parallels from Rangeela as far as personalites are concerned in Lafangey Parindey. Nandu like Rangeela’s Mill is starry-eyed while Nandu’s character is similar to Munna of Aamir, though Nandu does not have too much sense of humor!
6. Deepika Padukone is the life of Lafangey Parindey

Minus points of Lafangey Parindey
1. Neil Nitin Mukesh is fair for the part of the film. Well, we mean the other way. He looks like a Harvard returned graduate . Though he plays his role well, you cannot identify him in the tapori getup.
2. The police investigating angle looks hotched up and is pretty one-track.
Best scenes in Lafangey Parindey
1. When the climax is good, the movie is more than often, worth it. The finale has been well shot, especially the final shot between Deepika and Neil that may remind people of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, but this one is far superior.

Best Performance:
Deepika Padukone is the best thing about Lafangey Parindey. You just want more of her in this performance oriented treat of a film. With eyes that communicate effectively and the cheerful bindass middle class appeal, Deepika Padukone surely makes a mark. Truly a huge jump for a girl who was considered a fluke in some of her earlier movies. With a good performance in Karthik Calling Karthik and a brilliant performance in Lafangey Parindey, Deepika Padukone’s girlfriend-like appeal is sure to win a lot of fans and compliments.

Neil Nitin Mukesh, an accomplished performer himself somehow pales in front of Deepika Padukone’s screen presence. But he is not bad at all. Piyush Mishra is very good. Kay Kay Menon has three scene; and he is competent as ever. The friends, each of them, impress.

Conclusion : Lafangey Parindey is a very good love story, a bit predictable but captivating, nonetheless. If you are a Deepika Padukone fan, you will love this. If you are not, you may just become one after watching this one.
