Bollywood filmmakers proudly claim that their film has been selected to be part of the Oscar library. This is NOT the equivalent of winning an Oscar. Or anything to be really happy about.
The truth is any films that is released in the US automatically becomes a part of the Academy's library. It is not distinction but merely a formal official procedure to keep records of the movies releases. So even if a B-grade Bollywood movie releases in the US, its records will be kept by the Oscars. So dear Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Karan Johar, Ashutosh Gowariker, your Guzaarish, My Name is Khan and Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se respectively, have not really scored a whammy by being a part of the Oscar library.
