Movie review Drona, Drona is a super-zero film

Love Story 2050 has tough competition. There is a movie that can be worse than this..Drona. Abhishek Bachchan's best friend Goldie Behl has churned up a potential flop in Drona. There is nothing to talk about in this story which is thinner than Kareena Kapoor's waist.

The movie talks about two aspects of the world, the good and the bad. The bad is reprsented by the evil face of the world, Kay Kay while Abhishek Bachchan represent the goodness of the world. The bad one wants to take control of the world, while the good one wants to save it. There is nothing more to it. The only saving grace is the beautiful Priyanka Chopra who renders some support to the film through her presence of mind and yes, body. Priyanka Chopra plays body guard to Abhishek Bachchan.


We are scared thinking about the finanical loss the movie stands to sink in. It is clearly a big budgeted movie and a bad one at that. A film is always a director's baby and Goldie Behl seems to have illtreated his own baby with his sloppy direction which is notches below what an amateur would do. If the lackdaisical script is not enough, there are whimsical costumes and poor dialogues in Drona which make you squirm on your seats. Weak characterizations are so evident in the film. The plus points of the superhero Drona are never highlighted and the villain Kay Kay looks like a clown and does not inspire fear. One does not know what Goldie wanted to attempt, a kiddie flick, a comic venture or a fantasy film. May be he wanted all three rolled into one, so much that all the characters seem to have identity crisis. The songs except for the title song of Drona mar the plot. There is a thin silver lining in the cloud. the special effects; they are far better than what we have seen so far. But that cannot compensate for a poor film.


Fantasy movies like Jaani Dushman, Rudraaksh and this year's Love Story were bad but funny enough to take potshots but this one is sad; makes you tear your hair in frustation.


We feel sorry for Kay Kay doing this film. Abhishek Bachchan may lose fan following if he does films like these. This film does not suit him in any way, he does not look a superhero. He looks like a zombie, you can make out he is just not interested, he is just doing a favor for his friend Goldie.Priyanka Chopra does look the part but it is not her film, it is about Drona, and Drona sucks!

Our verdict: only a Superhero can rescue Drona in theatres.
One more verdict: Priyanka Chopra needs to save her ass..she has only given crap this year: Love Story 2050, God Tussi Great Ho and Drona. We hope Fashion works in Priyanka's favor.
