Sanjay Gadhvi is never known to make good films(Dhoom series worked because of stars, period) and the stars did not come to his rescue when he made the legendary flop of all times, Tashan. Sanjay wanted creative freedom to do things the way he wanted, which is why he directed Kidnap, without Yash Raj butting in. Sorry to say, but Sanjay Gadhvi has proved that Tashan's flop status was not a fluke. Kidnap is a bad movie, in simple words. There is too much of cleavage leverage in Kidnap,
in fact, the camera just ogles at Minissha's cleavage and curves, caring two hoots about brilliant cinema.
The story of Kidnap:
The story of Kidnap is similiar to Zinda, though Zinda was a far better movie. Imran Khan who plays the character of Kabir Sharma has old scores to settle with one of the richest men in the world, Mr. Vikrant Raina. Imran Khan kidnaps Minissha Lamba who plays the character Sonia, and leads Vikrant through a treacherous terrain of cues to find his daughter. The daughter Minissha Lamba was ten years old when her parents had divorced, and is staying with her mother Vidya Malvade when she is kidnapped. What could have turned to be a slick movie turns to be a sick movie. Wait till we get to the minus points of Kidnap, here are the rare plus points of Kidnap

Plus points of Kidnap movie:
1. The camera work is very good and so is the jail sequence. Imran Khan's much hyped jumping act is good too.
2. The music of Pritam, though sounding plagiazized is okay. Mit Jaaye, Hey Ya, Mausam are passable.
Minus points of Kidnap movie:
1. Minissha starts wearing revealing clothes after she is kidnapped. Nobody in the right sense of mind will do that.
2. Sanjay has assets worth $51 Billion. Imran Khan asks Sanjay Dutt to reach Panvel station at a certain time to find the clue to which Sanjay replies that it is not possible as it is peak time. Imran then tells him to fly and come but Sanjay Dutt a $51 billion businessman, who can afford planes; robs the cars and bikes of other people to reach the place.
3. The casting is wrong. A young Vidya Malvade looks like Minissha's sister rather than mother.
4. The kidnap victim when taken to the beach, begins to sing and dance, and prance around as if she is on a honeymoon. Would you behave like this if you were kidnapped?
5. The ease in which Sanjay Dutt releases a prisoner from a jail makes it look as if it is an everyday thing for him.
6. How can a person become a computer whiz after languishing 8 years in jail? We are talking about Imran Khan.
7. Stemming from point 6, how can a minor Imran Khan be sentenced to 8 years in jail for stealing a car?
8. Haa haa..this one is funny. The hostage Minissha Lamba realizes she is being held hostage in her own holiday home after spending 4 days in that house. Clearly, it looks Minissha is either fool or mentally challenged(considering that she is happy being kidnapped) in the film
9. This one takes the cake. Imran Khan is injured by a bullet, and Minissha instead of running for her life, goes back to save the kidnapper from bleeding to death. She saves his life and rightfully, that she is kidnapped again!
10. There is no chemistry between Imran Khan and Minissha Lamba. He is there to impress and she is there to expose.
Performances in Kidnap: Sanjay Dutt looks uncomfortable, Imran Khan looks the part but sounds fake, and it looks like he will blurt all the lines in English, given a chance. Minissha Lamba relies on some cleavage leverage as her answer to acting.
Our verdict:
Please watch it in a multiplex theatre...to enjoy the airconditioning...in a regular theater, you may be deprived of that and kidnap the director Sanjay Gadhvi out of sheer frustration and hold him at ransom for your ticket amount.
