Gavin Packard Dead, Picture

The death of Gavin Packard is a blow to Bollywood.  One of Indian film industry' best bad boys of the 90s died following respiratory failure on May 18, 2012. He is known for being a part of many hit films including Sadak, Mohra and Chamatkar. He also acted in many Malayalam films like Aayushkalam, Season, Aanaval Mothir. Gavin Packard , an actor of British origin was one of the prominent Bollywood bad guys from overseas who has died, following another actor Marc Zuber.

The 48-year-old actor, breathed his last at a nursing centre in Vasai at 4 am. His funeral was held at St. Andrews Burial Grounds in Bandra on May 19. And though around 200 people came to pray for his soul, the film industry that was close to his heart did not turn up. However they did send in their condolences. Sanjay Dutt said, “He was like a brother to me. He introduced me to body building. I am a Godfather to his daughters also. I’ll pray for his peace. I am there for his family always. Gold bless his soul.”

Suniel Shetty said, “It makes me very sad to learn about Gavin’s death. He was a part of all my initial films. In fact, he was the one who got Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) into body building, Bahut acha aadmi tha par producers se paise maang nahi sakta tha. Then at the end of the day, it becomes a hand to mouth existence. We used to train together a lot and when it came to bodybuilding, he was a pioneer. He exactly knew about every muscle, food intake. Any action film you say, he was there.”

Gavin was actually a fitness trainer by profession, his first film was a movie called Ilaaka in 1989 and his last film was Yeh Hai Jalwa (1999) directed by David Dhawan. Two years ago, Gavin had checked himself into a rehab following an alcohol problem. Packard had met with an actress two years back when he was riding a motorbike under the influence of alcohol. His brother Daryl had then said, "Gavin has an alcohol problem. He was in rehab but left it incomplete. Now, he visits home intermittently and keeps doing the disappearing act."

We at Bollywood Trends express our sincere condolences to Gavin Packard, one of the fittest actors of the 90s and an inspiration to many.
